How-To Where-To Sessions
In March, June and September, members and friends of RRTU are invited for an informal, knowledge sharing session (simply a whiteboard, maps, knot material, handouts and interactive conversation) about how to fly fish and/or where to fly fish. Topics and which gathering locatoin are published on this website and in the chapter newletter well in advance.
Hot-To Where-To Session Goals:
o Reach out to those interested in water conservation and fly fishing
o Help share knowledge among beginners and veteran fly fishers (you do not have to be a TU member)
o Create an interactive, participatory, low-key and friendly gathering of like minds

At Northlake REI Community Room (see map below) Schedule: March 26 Fly Fishing with Dry Flies, Nymphs, Wet Flies and Streamers Fly Fishing Delayed Harvest Streams and Stillwater September 25 Fly Fishing with Dry Flies, Nymphs, Wet Flies and Streamers Fly Fishing Delayed Harvest Streams and Stillwater Directions: Northlake REI Community Room. Take I-77 North to Exit 18, Harris Blvd. west. Turn right at the stoplight that takes you to the shopping area with the Target store. |

At Sharon United Methodist Church (see Map below) Schedule: June 26 Fly Fishing with Terrestrials on... Fly Fishing Wild and Catch-and-Release Streams Fly Fishing Remote Headwaters (cool places during the Dog Days of summer) ...also depending on interest level.... Fly Fishing with Small Flies, Size 18 and Smaller on... Fly Fishing Tailraces Directions: Sharon United Methodist Church, Education Building. The church is across from the Cheesecake Factory side of Southpark Mall. Watch for the RRTU sign. |
Note: Each session will be roughly 1 1/2 to 2 hours long with 20-30 minutes on how-to, 30-40 minutes on where-to and 20-30 minutes on Tips and Dealing with Unusual Conditions every session. The group at a given session can decide toghether to spend more or less time on a given topic,
