North Carolina Camouflage Coalition (NC Camo)

The North Carolina Camouflage Coalition is a statewide electronic network of sportsmen and women that allows hunters and anglers to monitor and impact issues that affet hunting, fishing and conservatoin on a local, state, and national level. It is basically a group of hunters and anglers committed to preserving their traditions.

The purpose of the coalition is to organize hunters and anglers to act quickly when issues arise that afct hunting and fishing. Members receive critical information about legislation and policy changes through internet email alerts. Using simple, straightforward, and free tools of the coalition website, members can voice their concerns to their elected representatives.

NC Camo www.nccamo.org is a program of the NC Wildlife Federation, the state's only organization dedicated solely to all wildlife and its habitat.

  • Fishing regulation changes
  • Streams and sections of streamsadded or deleted from Public Trout Water designation
  • Changes trout fishing license prices, privileges covered, etc.
  • Agency policy actions related to Tellico River OHV Trail System area
  • Budgetingimpacts on the  Clean-Water Conservation Fund
  • Planning progress on the proposed I-3 highway through western North Carolina
  • New availabilities or losses to stream access on private land (game land contracts with land owners)
  • Need to voice support to your legislator who is preparing to vote on a state land protection acquition

NC Camo's service provides to it's membership
(all free, fully funded by voluntary donations and NC Wildlife Federation):
  • E-mail Action Alerts - screened for criticality and issued in a timelymanner so as to over-communicate
  • Education materials about statewide events
  • Fast and easy ways to contact specific legislators, elected officials, and regulator agencies

The staff of NCWF and NC Camo serves Rocky River Trout Unlimited members as our advocate on angling issues. As a member, (no dues or fees- ever) you are also personally empowered to exercise the option to advocate a position on each critical issue.
